Ed Currie


Training: Ed graduated from Arts Educational Schools London in 2011with a BA (Hons) in musical theatre. He is also an alumnus of the National Youth Music Theatre. Ed started dancing at the Rawle School of Dance in his home town of Macclesfield when he was 16.
Credits while training included: Reverend Shaw Moore in Footloose, Bobby Pepper in Curtains and ensemble/dance captain in Grand Hotel.

Theatre includes: most recently, creating the role of Trevor/understudy Gary Strong in the Watermill Theatre’s production of Radio Times (UK tour), Mr Smith in The Bald Prima Donna (Catfish��Theatre Company, London and UK tour), ensemble in Top Hat (original cast, UK tour), ensemble in Prince of the Pagodas (Royal Ballet, Royal Opera House), vocalist for the 2011 Olivier Awards and Broadway to West End (Theatre Royal, Drury Lane), and Rev Plum in The Dreaming and Reb Mordcha in Fiddler on the Roof (NYMT).

Recordings include: PJ in Great Pretenders the Musical.

Other work includes: Ed recently formed his own dance company for which he choreographed an original black comedy dance theatre piece Teddy Bears’ Picnic.

Ed would like to say a thank you to everyone at Fallibroome High School who helped him on his way to his West End debut, especially Mark Payne and Helen Frost.
